BlackRock and several United Arab Emirates investment funds are discussing joining OpenAI’s latest funding round, with the UAE investors considering a combined contribution of up to $10 billion.

The funds, including MGX, are considering participating as a consortium. The financing is ongoing, and its terms may change.

OpenAI is seeking to raise at least $30 billion, with a pre-money valuation of about $1.4 trillion. The company’s most recent funding was in March, when it raised $122 billion at an $852 billion post-money valuation.

OpenAI has delayed its planned initial public offering until at least next year, citing a focus on AI safety.
