Atlassian Adds OpenAI Tools to Jira and Confluence Workflows
The expanded partnership connects ChatGPT and Codex with company work in Atlassian products and lets Rovo agents use OpenAI models.

Atlassian and OpenAI expanded their partnership with four integrations that connect company work data to ChatGPT and Codex and add OpenAI model options for Atlassian’s Rovo agents.
The ChatGPT connection lets users find and summarize Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Loom content they are permitted to access. It uses Atlassian OAuth and each user’s existing permissions. Access requires a ChatGPT Team or Enterprise plan with developer mode, plus any administrator approval the organization requires.
Codex can draw on Jira requirements and Confluence decisions during software planning, implementation and review. Developers can also open a Jira work item in Codex and prepare an implementation plan for review. To set it up, developers need Jira Cloud, access to a repository, Codex authentication and the required product permissions.
Rovo agents can use selected OpenAI models. Availability may vary by plan, region and product configuration, so the partnership does not establish that every model is available to every customer.
Teamwork Graph brings together information from Atlassian products and connected tools. Its Rovo MCP Server gives compatible AI clients permission-aware access to Atlassian content, allowing teams to bring that context into AI tools while keeping work tracked in Atlassian.
