Bitcoin Group Plans Partner Model to Restart Bitcoin.de Trading
Trading has been suspended since June 12, 2026. The company has not named partners or set a launch date.

Bitcoin Group SE plans to use regulated partners to resume trading on Bitcoin.de after its futurum bank AG subsidiary was denied authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA.
Trading has been suspended since June 12, 2026. The company plans to separate trading and custody between regulated partners and aims to restore trading through a technologically updated Bitcoin.de app within the next few weeks.
Bitcoin Group has not named the prospective partners or set a launch date. Customer assets remain in secure custody until they can be transferred to an alternative regulated custodian, and customer claims remain intact.
The refusal followed an application filed June 27, 2025. BaFin determined that the steps taken and progress possible in the short term did not meet the authorization requirements. Bitcoin Group may object within one month of receiving formal notice, while futurum bank can submit a new application.
The licensing setback comes as Bitcoin Group reports weaker results. Revenue totaled €1.59 million in the first half of 2026, while EBITDA was negative €3.25 million. The company expects full-year revenue to decline from 2025 and EBITDA to remain negative.
