Coinbase has completed the integration of Deribit into its global derivatives business, creating a unified platform that will expand regulated access to crypto options and perpetual contracts for eligible U.S. clients.

Coinbase Financial Markets, the company’s U.S.-regulated futures commission merchant, is expected to soon connect eligible customers to the global derivatives liquidity pool. U.S. institutional clients can already open accounts through Coinbase Prime to trade Deribit options and perpetuals.

The integration brings Deribit’s derivatives infrastructure into Coinbase’s broader global exchange operation. Eligible traders outside the U.S. are expected to receive options access within weeks, while broader U.S. retail access is expected later this year.

Deribit had more than $30 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) options open interest as of Sept. 30 and processed more than $1 trillion in trading volume over the previous year. Coinbase acquired the derivatives exchange in August 2025 for about $2.9 billion.
