BitGo’s Singapore operations have expanded since the company received a Major Payment Institution license in August 2024, highlighting the growth of institutional crypto infrastructure outside the United States.

BitGo’s Asia-Pacific client base tripled after the license was granted, while its Singapore headcount more than doubled. BitGo Prime’s Singapore trading volumes also more than doubled in the first half of 2026 from the same period in 2025.

BitGo’s Singapore desk is now BitGo Prime’s largest trading desk globally.

BitGo is expanding beyond custody into trading, financing, settlement, staking and tokenization. On Oct. 6, BitGo and HashKey Cloud announced a strategic partnership covering custody, staking, trading and real-world-asset tokenization.

The partnership initially supports institutional staking for Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL). It also makes BitGo a custody partner for HashKey’s real-world-asset tokenization initiatives.

“We believe this partnership reflects the depth of institutional demand in Asia, where institutions want regulated infrastructure across the full asset lifecycle, not point solutions, and this partnership brings custody, staking, trading and tokenization together with a partner that shares that standard,” said Abel Seow, BitGo’s managing director and head of Asia-Pacific.

Angela Ang, BitGo’s managing director of Asia-Pacific and president of BitGo Singapore, said clients are seeking additional uses for assets held in custody.

“Clients who came to us to custody assets are now also asking how those assets can work harder for them,” Ang said.

The partnership adds trading, staking and tokenization services to BitGo’s custody infrastructure as the company builds its institutional business in Asia.
