Nous Research Raises $90 Million for Hermes Agent Business Expansion
The open-source AI company will add enterprise deployment, auditing, workspace controls and other features around Hermes for Businesses.

Nous Research announced $90 million in financing Oct. 7 to expand Hermes Agent into a business product, adding enterprise infrastructure around its open-source AI system.
The funding will support Hermes for Businesses, which includes private deployment, Single Sign-On, auditing, workspace controls, shared team skills, cost visibility and service-level agreements. These features are designed to give organizations more control over how teams deploy and manage the agent.
Nous Research released Hermes Agent in February 2026 under the MIT License. The system can retain information across sessions, create reusable skills and operate locally or through hosted services.
The company says Hermes Agent has been cloned or downloaded more than 24 million times since its launch. Nous Research was founded in 2023 by Jeffrey Quesnelle, Karan Malhotra, Ryan Teknium and Shivani Mitra.
The financing follows an earlier funding process that was still in progress in July, when the company was seeking at least $75 million. The latest announcement gives Nous Research capital to develop enterprise features while keeping Hermes Agent open source.
The company’s next step is to expand Hermes for Businesses with the deployment, governance and collaboration tools listed in its offering.
