Tokenization could reshape asset ownership and trading as financial markets explore tokenized equities, 24/7 trading and blockchain-based infrastructure, BitGo Chief Product Officer Eugene Hahr said.

Hahr highlighted the possibility that some assets could function more like bearer instruments, potentially reshaping ownership and trading. The model could also support broader access to markets that traditionally operate within limited trading hours.

Tokenized equities are emerging as one area of interest. 24/7 trading could change how investors access markets, while custody and settlement infrastructure would become increasingly important to support tokenized instruments.

The tokenized-asset market remains at an early stage. The sector continues to face technological and market risks, while wider adoption may depend on clearer regulation and secure custody and settlement systems.

BitGo provides digital-asset custody and security services. The company has also expanded its work in real-world-asset tokenization through a partnership with HashKey Cloud covering custody, staking, trading and tokenization initiatives.

The expanded BitGo-HashKey Cloud partnership builds on an earlier collaboration and includes institutional staking for Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL), with BitGo serving as a custody partner for HashKey’s real-world-asset tokenization efforts.
