Cointelegraph is facing a steep audience decline as prolonged weakness and low volatility in crypto markets reduce reader interest in industry news.

The crypto media company recorded more than 12 million monthly visits in December 2024. By Sept. 1, monthly traffic had fallen to slightly above 700,000.

Search visibility also deteriorated in October 2025, when the website disappeared from search results. Organic traffic subsequently fell about 80%.

Cointelegraph was founded in 2013 and has more than 200 employees. Its Middle East and North Africa franchise was acquired by Luna Media Corporation in July 2022.
