Coinbase, Samsung Plan USDC as Default Dollar Stablecoin in U.S. Wallet
The service is scheduled to launch in the last week of October, with Coinbase Prime handling custody and Bastion providing the underlying infrastructure.

Coinbase and Samsung Electronics plan to make USDC the default dollar stablecoin for Samsung Wallet users in the United States, expanding their crypto partnership with a service scheduled to launch in the last week of October.
Users who fund stablecoin balances through Samsung Wallet will receive USD Coin (USDC) as the default dollar-denominated option. The rollout is planned for the U.S. market and has not yet launched.
Coinbase Prime, Coinbase’s institutional platform, will custody the related USDC assets. Bastion, a regulated stablecoin service provider, will support the underlying infrastructure.
The partnership extends Coinbase’s role inside Samsung’s mobile wallet ecosystem and gives U.S. users a direct path to access a dollar-linked crypto asset through Samsung Wallet. The service is expected to become available during the last week of October 2026.
