Cointelegraph rejected claims that it is for sale on Oct. 8 and called for corrections to a CoinDesk report it said contained multiple factual errors.

The company said it would not be sold and argued that speculation should not be presented as established fact. It asked the relevant media outlet to correct the report, clearly acknowledge the errors and give the correction prominence equal to the original article.

Cointelegraph also urged media outlets not to create controversy to attract readers, promote commercial activity or sustain their businesses. It said readers need news reporting rather than drama designed to generate clicks.
