Deus X Capital Ends Operations, Plans January 2027 Liquidation
The crypto and fintech investment firm plans to complete its formal dissolution on Jan. 31, 2027, after launching in October 2023 with $1 billion in deployable capital.

Deus X Capital has stopped operations and plans to complete its formal liquidation on Jan. 31, 2027, ending a crypto and financial technology investment platform launched three years ago.
The firm was led by Tim Grant, a former Galaxy Digital executive. Deus X began in October 2023 with $1 billion in deployable capital, positioning it as a significant institutional investor in digital assets and financial technology.
The shutdown follows a split among the Morton family’s backers over investment strategy. Shane Morton is establishing an artificial intelligence-focused firm called Darius, where Grant will become chief executive of its AI project TensorX. Owen and Jason Morton are forming 95, focused on markets and financial technology.
During its operation, Deus X incubated institutional decentralized finance protocol Solstice Labs and invested heavily in market maker Alpha Lab 40 and prime broker Cor Prime. The liquidation is scheduled to be completed Jan. 31, 2027.
