Moscow Exchange plans to begin offering cryptocurrency trading services Dec. 1 under new Russian regulations, expanding the role of the country’s main securities exchange in the digital-asset market.

The exchange will continue testing the service before the planned launch, Moscow Exchange senior general manager Boris Blokhin said. “We will continue testing until the official launch,” Blokhin said.

The planned start would give Russia’s established securities-market infrastructure a formal role in cryptocurrency trading as the country introduces rules for the service.

Testing is scheduled to continue until the planned Dec. 1 launch.
