Coinbase said its Deribit integration was complete as TOKEN2049 Singapore’s second day highlighted derivatives access and institutional market infrastructure, while the organizer announced its 2027 expansion plans.

Coinbase announced Oct. 7 that the integration had been completed, creating Coinbase Global Exchange. The platform will provide access to more than $30 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) options open interest, measured Sept. 30.

Operational completion was dated Oct. 1 in Coinbase’s integration materials. Options trading, spot margin and unified portfolios are expected to become available over the following weeks, while Coinbase said Coinbase Pro would return by the end of 2026.

U.S. institutions are prohibited from accessing Deribit through Coinbase. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued a May 29, 2026, no-action position concerning Coinbase Financial Markets’ plan to offer certain digital-commodity derivatives listed on Deribit’s foreign board of trade.

The second day at Marina Bay Sands focused on tokenization, stablecoins, real-world assets, institutional markets, 24/7 trading and crypto regulation. The Oct. 7–8 event drew more than 25,000 attendees from more than 160 countries. A separate institutional track was limited to 200 individually approved participants, primarily at the managing-director level and above.

Midnight, a privacy-focused network associated with the Cardano ecosystem, presented a keynote and demonstrations covering privacy-preserving identity, collateral infrastructure, decentralized finance and cross-chain interoperability. Its genesis block was created March 17, 2026, at 3:17 a.m. UTC, or March 16 at 11:17 p.m. ET.

The organizer’s next expansion will include TOKEN2049’s first New York edition, scheduled for June 16–17, 2027, with an expected 15,000 attendees. TOKEN2049 Dubai is scheduled for April 21–22, 2027.

The New York conference will follow TOKEN2049 Singapore’s Oct. 7–8 run and extend the event series into the U.S. market.
