Retail sales excluding automobile dealers and gasoline stations rose for a 12th consecutive month in September 2026, reaching $560.8 billion after a 0.3% increase from August.

The measure was up 4.1% from a year earlier, extending the monthly growth streak through the third quarter of 2026.
