General Dynamics Names Danny Deep as CEO to Lead Strategic Review
Deep’s land-based military systems background differs from outgoing CEO Phebe Novakovic’s experience in marine systems and intelligence.

General Dynamics has named longtime executive Danny Deep as its next chief executive officer, positioning him to lead strategic evaluation across the defense contractor’s major business areas.
Deep’s appointment had been widely anticipated by investors. His background in land-based military systems differs from that of outgoing CEO Phebe Novakovic, whose experience includes marine systems and intelligence.
General Dynamics’ portfolio includes naval construction, armored vehicles, defense technology and Gulfstream aircraft. Deep will oversee further strategic evaluation across those areas as he takes the company’s top operating role.
The leadership change could bring a new operational viewpoint and create an opportunity to unlock additional shareholder value.
