Coinbase and Samsung plan to add USD Coin (USDC) transfers to Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. users, extending stablecoin access across 82 million compatible Galaxy devices beginning in the final week of October.

USDC will be the first stablecoin available in the wallet and the default dollar-denominated option when users select “Buy Stablecoin.” The 82 million figure refers to compatible devices, not confirmed active users.

Coinbase will custody USDC held through Samsung Wallet using Coinbase Prime. The framework will operate with support from Bastion. Eligible users will be able to send USDC to compatible crypto wallets internationally without transfer fees.

Samsung also plans transfers to qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients may receive local currency instead of USDC, depending on the destination and account eligibility.

The service will initially be limited to eligible users in the United States. The rollout expands an existing Coinbase-Samsung partnership that includes Samsung Pay support in the Coinbase app and Coinbase One access through Samsung Wallet.

The stablecoin feature is scheduled to begin rolling out during the final week of October.
