The PC market declined more than 20% year over year in the third quarter, with shipments totaling 62.7 million units as demand faced pressure from supply and economic constraints.

Apple increased its share of the market to 9.5% even as its unit shipments fell, allowing the company to perform better than the broader market during the quarter.

Supply constraints affected sales, while inventory brought forward earlier in the year reduced later-quarter demand. High prices also weighed on consumers, alongside worsening macroeconomic conditions.

The results show Apple gaining relative share during a broad market contraction, although its own shipments still declined during the quarter.
