Samsung Plans USDC Transfers as Solana Stablecoin Supply Hits Record
Samsung Wallet will support transfers for eligible U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October 2026, covering 82 million compatible devices.

Samsung Electronics America plans to add USD Coin (USDC) transfers to Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October 2026, as stablecoin supply on the Solana network reaches a record level.
The launch will cover 82 million compatible U.S. Galaxy devices. Users will be able to send USDC to compatible international crypto wallets and qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries.
Samsung will not charge transfer fees. Recipient wallets or exchanges may impose fees, while bank-account recipients may receive funds in local currency. Delivery times and charges will vary by destination.
Samsung identified Solana and Sui as separate partners that may provide blockchain infrastructure and network support. The announcement did not establish that every transfer will use Solana.
“Sending money abroad should feel as convenient as using the wallet already on your phone,” said Woncheol Chai, executive vice president and head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics.
Bastion will provide the cross-border payment framework, while Coinbase will act as Samsung’s sub-custodian for USDC. Samsung also said it is not a bank, money transmitter or digital-asset custodian.
Solana’s stablecoin supply reached a record $17.51 billion in September 2026. Stablecoin supply stood at $16.3 billion at the end of the second quarter, up 48% from a year earlier, while second-quarter decentralized-exchange spot volume reached $160.8 billion.
Those figures measure activity across the Solana network and do not establish how much volume Samsung Wallet will generate. The planned service’s effect on demand for Solana (SOL) also has not been established.
SOL opened at $116.203 and was priced at $110.285 in the Oct. 8, 2026, daily market data, with a high of $116.780 and a low of $105.870.
Chai said eligible users can get started without installing another app or managing private keys. The announcement described the feature as a Samsung Wallet launch and did not announce Samsung Pay integration. Samsung’s planned rollout is scheduled for the last week of October 2026.
