Southwest Airlines is leaning toward Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner as it considers launching long-haul international flights, a move that would introduce the carrier’s first widebody aircraft.

The airline has not made a final decision on which aircraft to use. The 787 is being considered as Southwest evaluates potential long-haul international service.

If selected, the aircraft would mark a change from Southwest’s current narrowbody fleet as the carrier considers launching long-haul international flights. The airline is still weighing whether to launch the service.
