MARA Transfers $81.1 Million in Bitcoin to Galaxy Digital
The 996.105 BTC transfer comes as the miner shifts capital toward artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.

A wallet linked to MARA moved 996.105 BTC, valued at roughly $81.13 million, into a wallet labeled Galaxy Digital on Oct. 8 as the miner reallocates capital toward artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
The transaction occurred at about 2:55 p.m. ET (18:55 UTC). The blockchain movement does not establish whether MARA sold the bitcoin, completed an over-the-counter trade or transferred it for custody or another treasury purpose.
MARA reported holding 35,577 BTC as of June 30, including 9,270 BTC loaned or pledged as collateral. The company also disclosed selling 15,133 BTC for approximately $1.1 billion between March 4 and March 25 to help fund repurchases of convertible notes.
MARA’s broader strategy now includes AI-capable digital infrastructure. Its February partnership with Starwood Capital Group covers approximately 1 gigawatt of near-term IT capacity, with a pathway to more than 2.5 gigawatts.
