Ultra Announces Physical Intelligence Tie-Up for Warehouse Robots
The Brooklyn-based company leases robots for packing, sorting and kitting, while Physical Intelligence’s π0.6 model operates on Ultra robots in live warehouses.

Brooklyn-based robotics company Ultra reportedly raised $62 million across a $50 million Series A and an earlier $12 million seed round as it brings Physical Intelligence’s π0.6 model to warehouse robots in live customer sites.
The financing includes a reportedly $50 million Series A led by Framework Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, and an earlier $12 million seed round led by Y Combinator and Next View.
Ultra leases robots to warehouse operators through a “robots as a service” model. Customers pay an upfront integration fee, followed by recurring fees for hardware and software support.
The company’s systems are designed for packing, sorting and kitting. Ultra says its robots can be installed within hours and lists deployments in New York, Georgia, New Jersey and Texas.
The company’s Operator (OP1) robot has a 5-by-5-foot footprint, a work area of up to 10 by 10 feet and a vertical reach of up to 10 feet. Each arm can carry up to 10 pounds.
Physical Intelligence’s π0.6 model operates on Ultra robots in live customer warehouses. Physical Intelligence says the model reached 96.4% autonomy during an eight-hour shift shown in a continuous-deployment video.
The partnership combines Ultra’s warehouse hardware and deployments with Physical Intelligence’s general-purpose robotics software. Ultra focuses on fixed industrial systems rather than humanoid robots, targeting repetitive fulfillment work in existing warehouse environments.
Ultra CEO and co-founder Jon Miller Schwartz said other robot formats are having more real-world impact than humanoid robots, which receive most of the attention.
Ultra’s service model is intended to reduce the upfront cost for warehouse operators by combining installation with recurring payments instead of requiring customers to buy and operate the full system outright.
