Humana Shares Jump 15% as 2027 Medicare Ratings Improve

Humana shares rose about 15% in premarket trading Friday after the insurer reported improved 2027 Medicare Advantage ratings.
Humana said 95% of its Medicare Advantage members are enrolled in plans rated at least four stars for 2027. Plans with 4.5-star ratings cover 42% of its members.
Six Medicare Advantage contracts received 4.5 stars, while 12 earned four stars. Humana’s prescription drug contract also received a 4.5-star rating.
The insurer reported 663,000 more completed care opportunities than a year earlier, including 534,000 additional annual preventive visits. Outreach also helped 28,000 people complete overdue mammograms and 93,000 complete overdue colorectal screenings.
Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plan enrollment runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, with coverage selected during the period beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
