BTQ Technologies and MoonPay Korea are partnering to develop quantum-resistant security for infrastructure supporting won-backed stablecoins and to connect South Korea’s stablecoin market with MoonPay’s global network.

The Nasdaq-listed BTQ Technologies and MoonPay’s Korean unit will jointly develop a quantum-migration roadmap and conduct a proof of concept with South Korean banking institutions for BTQ’s Quantum-Safe Stablecoin Network, or QSSN.

The proof of concept will explore quantum-safe mechanisms for stablecoin issuance, distribution, wallets and settlement. The effort builds on MoonPay Korea’s work to connect South Korea’s stablecoin market with MoonPay’s global payments network.

MoonPay’s network spans about 180 countries and regions and serves more than 35 million customers and over 1,500 business clients. The partnership places post-quantum security alongside the banking, wallet and settlement infrastructure being developed for potential won-backed stablecoin use in South Korea.
