Trump Says Putin Agreed to Supply More Than 300,000 Tons of Diesel
The proposed deliveries include 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons afterward, with as much as 3 million tons possible depending on refinery capacity.

President Donald Trump said Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the United States and global markets under an energy agreement with President Vladimir Putin.
Trump said the deliveries will expand to 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons afterward. Russia may also deliver 3 million tons within a short period, depending on refinery conditions, he said.
The announcement comes as Trump claimed the United States has “complete control” of the Strait of Hormuz. He said the Russian supply agreement and U.S. control of the strategic shipping route would drive diesel prices down quickly.
Trump described his conversation with Putin as highly successful and again said Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons.
The proposed schedule would make the immediate shipment the first stage of a larger supply plan, with the next stated increase set for November.
