Nvidia Generates About $8.3 Million in Revenue Per Employee
Trailing-12-month revenue reached $347.031 billion through July 26, 2026, while the workforce figure of approximately 42,000 dates to Jan. 25.

Nvidia generated approximately $8.3 million in revenue per employee on a trailing-12-month basis through July 26, 2026, highlighting the scale of its artificial intelligence infrastructure business.
The calculation uses $347.031 billion in revenue and Nvidia’s approximately 42,000 employees as of Jan. 25, 2026. Nvidia did not provide a workforce figure for July 26, so the comparison combines revenue and employee figures measured on different dates.
The trailing figure starts with fiscal 2026 revenue of $215.938 billion, adds fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $81.615 billion and fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue of $96.221 billion, then subtracts fiscal second-quarter 2026 revenue of $46.743 billion. Dividing the result by approximately 42,000 employees produces about $8.26 million per employee.
That result exceeds an earlier estimate of approximately $7.2 million per employee. Using fiscal 2026 revenue alone, Nvidia generated approximately $5.14 million per employee, although that comparison also uses the year-end workforce count.
Nvidia’s fiscal second-quarter 2027 Data Center revenue reached $89.0 billion, up 117% from a year earlier. Fiscal 2026 gross margin was 71.1%, while operating income totaled $130.4 billion.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.”
Revenue per employee is not a standard company operating metric. The calculation indicates business scale but does not measure individual productivity or profit.
