Pump.fun is reviewing its rewards algorithm to reduce incentives for low-quality token promotions while determining how to reward users who identify promising projects early.

Co-founder Alon said the platform is targeting users who recommend large numbers of low-market-cap tokens without considering whether their followers actually profited. The changes are intended to link rewards more closely to the results generated for the platform’s audience.

Pump.fun is also examining how to identify high-quality early recommendations. The team is considering new quality standards and a market-cap threshold, but it has not announced specific criteria or adopted a numerical threshold.

The review follows Pump.fun’s plan to tie callout rewards to followers’ profits, connecting promotional incentives with the outcomes experienced by users who follow the recommendations.

The platform will further refine the rewards mechanism to focus payments on users whose recommendations help their followers earn profits.
