DeepSeek plans to lead a tens-of-millions-of-dollars seed round for Winverse AI, extending DeepSeek’s business into factory humanoid robots.

The financing would value Winverse at about $400 million after the investment. Other committed investors include Long-Z Investments, a Meituan affiliate.

The deal has not been finalized, and both the valuation and investor list may change. Winverse is currently operating in stealth.

Winverse was founded in 2026 by Hu Han, a former Tencent scientist who led the company’s vision-language and embodied foundation-model team and served as its chief scientist. Hu holds a doctorate from Tsinghua University and previously worked at Microsoft Research Asia and Baidu.

The planned investment would be one of DeepSeek’s larger startup investments since Liang Wenfeng founded the company in 2023. The deal is intended to extend DeepSeek’s business into factory humanoid robots and other applications of embodied-intelligence models.

DeepSeek previously bought about a 2% stake in Unitree Robotics during Unitree’s Shanghai listing as part of an effort to collaborate on embodied-intelligence models.

DeepSeek is also nearing completion of a financing round worth at least $12 billion. DeepSeek’s planned new financing would support model training and data centers, as well as potentially investments in emerging startups.

DeepSeek plans to list publicly in early 2027.
