Blur will shut down its public website on Nov. 12, ending access to the user-facing platform as Ethereum NFT trading volume has fallen more than 99% from its 2023 peak.

The platform’s Blend NFT lending service will stop matching new loans on the same date. Borrowers must repay outstanding loans by Nov. 12 or allow them to default. Blur plans to provide a separate tool later for users to withdraw Blend assets.

The change affects Blur’s website frontend, not its underlying Ethereum marketplace protocol. The smart contracts will remain operational, and BLUR tokenholders will retain control of the protocol’s fee switch, which governs whether trading fees can be introduced.

Monthly trading volume declined from about $1.43 billion in March 2023 to less than $7 million in March 2026. Blur accounted for more than 70% of Ethereum NFT trading volume at its peak in March 2023.

Blur launched in 2022 as a marketplace aimed at professional NFT traders, competing with OpenSea through faster transactions, low fees and token incentives. The website and new Blend loan matching will end Nov. 12.
