PAIO has expanded its UnionPay International offering in the United Kingdom to include pay-in and pay-out services, giving cross-border merchants and e-commerce platforms access to incoming and outgoing payment capabilities.

The pay-in service accepts UnionPay card payments for merchants. The pay-out service supports outgoing payments and cross-border transaction flows for companies managing international payments.

“Businesses today don't want to manage a different payment solution for every market they enter,” said Daniel Ion, director of PAIO. “They want payment infrastructure that works across borders and supports both sides of a transaction.”

UnionPay cards are accepted in more than 180 countries and regions. The expanded offering is aimed at UK businesses seeking to serve international customers and manage payments across markets.

The rollout builds on PAIO’s UnionPay acquiring service launched with DECTA in 2025. That service supports online and in-store card acceptance.

PAIO is a trading name of Finthesis Ltd., which operates internet-acquiring and open-banking services. Finthesis is a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)-authorized payment institution with FRN 924263.

“With UnionPay, we see an opportunity to help UK merchants connect with international customers while developing more flexible ways to manage incoming and outgoing payments,” Ion said.
