Salesforce Shares Rise 3.49% as Agentforce ARR Tops $1.5 Billion
The stock outpaced a 0.65% gain in the Software & IT Services sector as investors reassessed AI’s role in enterprise software platforms.

Salesforce shares rose 3.49% Tuesday, Oct. 13, outperforming the Software & IT Services sector as investors reassessed whether artificial intelligence agents will replace enterprise software platforms or operate within them.
The sector gained 0.65%. The move followed Bank of America analyst Tal Liani’s decision to raise Salesforce to Buy from Underperform on Oct. 12 and lift his price target to $285 from $160. The rating change was covered in earlier coverage of Salesforce’s upgrade.
Salesforce’s Agentforce annual recurring revenue exceeded $1.5 billion in its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, rising more than 240% from a year earlier. Agentforce and Data 360 together approached $3.9 billion in annual recurring revenue.
The company posted $11.3 billion in second-quarter revenue, an 11% increase from a year earlier. Current remaining performance obligations totaled $33.5 billion, up 14% year over year.
Salesforce expects fiscal 2027 revenue of $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion. The company is also expanding the use of artificial intelligence agents through Slack, allowing users to query customer records and manage workflows within workplace conversations.
The results add to the debate over whether rising AI adoption will translate into sustained growth for established software companies. The next test is whether growing Agentforce adoption can sustain higher subscription revenue.
