Pluto Security announced $42 million in total funding on Oct. 13 as it emerged from stealth with software designed to monitor and control AI tools, agents and related components used inside businesses.

The financing includes an approximately $34 million round led by Jump Capital and an $8.5 million seed round led by TLV Partners. Skinos, Ansa Capital and angel investors also participated. Pluto plans to use the capital for product development, security research and expansion in the United States.

Pluto’s platform monitors AI tools, skills, extensions, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and applications created by employees. The company says its software collects information such as prompts, commands, running processes, permissions and previous user activity, then uses endpoint models to evaluate what an AI agent is attempting to do.

The system can stop an agent’s action or inject instructions into an active session when the agent seeks permissions beyond what the user intended, Pluto says.

“We’re moving from user behavior to agent behavior,” Shahar Bahat, Pluto’s CEO and co-founder, said.

The company also operates Plutonium, a free platform for assessing publicly available AI skills, connectors and add-ons. Its other offerings include an MCP scanner and a catalog of verified components.

“We took a different approach from the beginning: understand what users are trying to accomplish, understand their intent, and give security teams the context to enable that work safely rather than simply block it,” Bahat said.

Pluto says it has surpassed $2 million in annual recurring revenue.

The financing follows Reco’s $55 million financing to expand its AI agent security platform. Reco’s platform maps relationships among AI agents, applications, people, accounts and permissions, while Pluto focuses on visibility and controls across AI workspaces and the components employees use to build them.
