XTEND AI Robotics has secured a $40.5 million order from the U.S. Department of War for 6,000 STRIKER drone systems.

The order follows XTEND’s success in the second phase of the Drone Dominance Program and qualifies the company for the program’s third phase. XTEND must first produce and deliver 400 systems before advancing to subsequent testing, with additional orders dependent on the results.

STRIKER systems run on XTEND’s XOS operating system, which is designed for tactical missions in environments affected by electronic interference or limited access to satellite navigation signals. The system supports edge-based autonomous operation and modular expansion.

XTEND also has a separate drone project with the United States Special Operations Command. That project is independent of the Department of War award.

The new contract gives XTEND a defined production requirement while it moves deeper into the government program’s evaluation process.
