Hyundai Motor Group plans to invest $15.5 billion in India through 2032, expanding manufacturing, research, supplier and technology efforts in a market central to its emerging-market growth.
The South Korean automaker’s investment period runs from 2026 through 2032. It plans to establish a dedicated investment entity in India to carry out the commitments.
The spending will cover manufacturing expansion, research and development infrastructure, development of local suppliers to source more parts in India, and future technology innovation. Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung described India as one of the group’s most important strategic markets globally.
Chung said the investment reaffirms the group’s commitment to India for the next 30 years and beyond.
Hyundai has production capacity for 1.4 million vehicles across its Indian operations and exports cars from the country. It sold 247,980 passenger cars in India from April through August. Hyundai is the country’s third-largest car company.
