Quantum Computing Inc. and INmune Bio, Inc. will use quantum optimization and artificial intelligence to analyze data on XPro, an investigational drug candidate, seeking patient biomarkers and possible new uses for the treatment.

The Stage 1 engagement will combine Quantum Computing Inc.’s Dirac-3S quantum optimization machine with AI and conventional analytics. The work will draw on INmune Bio’s preclinical research, data from four clinical trials and publicly available biomedical datasets.

The companies plan to compare quantum methods with standard statistical and machine-learning approaches to assess which methods fit different parts of the analysis. The project will look for diseases that share the biology targeted by XPro and help prioritize indications for further study. No research findings or new treatment uses have been announced.

XPro is designed to selectively inhibit soluble tumor necrosis factor, a protein involved in inflammation, while preserving other TNF functions. INmune Bio is studying the drug candidate in neurological and rare diseases. Its product candidates remain in clinical development and have not been approved by regulators.

The agreement includes options for additional work as INmune Bio advances its clinical programs. The companies did not disclose the contract value, a timeline or the specific datasets to be analyzed. Quantum Computing Inc. described the engagement as its first commercial customer in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology market.
