Blackstone has assembled a $200 billion data-center portfolio as it expands its AI investments, with activity spanning cloud computing, AI labs, power generation, cooling equipment and chip-backed lending.

The firm is working with Google on a cloud-computing business and has invested in AI companies including OpenAI. It has also provided loans secured by chips from Broadcom and Nvidia.

In June, Blackstone teamed with Broadcom and Apollo on a platform with an initial $35 billion to support Anthropic’s expansion of more than one gigawatt.

Private-market firms are investing in parts of the AI sector, though some remain cautious about certain segments. Blackstone President Gray described AI investment as the firm’s most important current priority.
