Venture Global Expects First Order Under 16-Unit Power Framework by Year-End

The framework covers units rated at 720 megawatts each, with deliveries scheduled from 2028 through 2034. A separate grid-equipment agreement brings the conditional total for both agreements to about $17.2 billion.

Venture Global expects to place its first order by year-end under a framework for as many as 16 on-site power units with Baker Hughes and GE Vernova, a step toward expanding generation for LNG operations and potential computing demand.

Venture Global LNG, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Venture Global, entered the agreement with Baker Hughes Energy Services LLC and GE Vernova Operations LLC on Oct. 9. The framework covers gas and steam turbines, related equipment and services. Baker Hughes will also provide controls and electrical integration, including E-houses and electrical control systems.

Each unit is rated at 720 megawatts and would use combined-cycle gas turbines. Deliveries are scheduled from 2028 through 2034. The units would add to an existing behind-the-meter network, which supplies Venture Global’s LNG facilities without relying on the public grid.

The broader plan targets up to 10 gigawatts of computing capacity by the end of 2034, subject to customer commitments, market demand and other commercial considerations. That target measures potential computing capacity, not electricity generation. Six power islands in the existing network are operating, under construction or ordered, with combined generation capacity of about 4.5 gigawatts.

The framework does not require Venture Global to purchase all 16 units. After the expected first order, manufacturing capacity is reserved for eight of the 15 remaining units; purchase orders for those eight are anticipated to begin in early 2027. Further purchases require additional agreements or orders. The latest terms build on an earlier power framework.

A separate agreement with GE Grid Solutions covers transformers and gas-insulated switchgear for as many as 21 power-island projects. If Venture Global proceeds with every purchase order under both agreements, payments are estimated at about $17.2 billion, including applicable reservation fees and subject to adjustments. The estimate combines the two agreements and is not a price for the Baker Hughes framework alone.

Apart from the stated reservation fees and reserved capacity, the parties have no binding obligation to purchase or supply power islands under the power framework until they enter further definitive reservation agreements or purchase orders.
