Catalio Targets $500 Million for Its Next Health Care Venture Fund

The planned launch moved forward from its previous 2027 plan, but the new timing is unspecified. Five existing investments, including Doctronic and Basecamp Research, are expected to move into Nexus V.

Catalio Capital Management is seeking $500 million for Nexus V, its next venture fund, which will invest in companies applying artificial intelligence to health care. Fundraising is underway, so the amount remains a target rather than a completed close.

The anticipated transfer includes Doctronic and Basecamp Research, alongside three other current Catalio investments. The fund is expected to have an investment mix similar to Catalio’s previous venture fund, Nexus Fund IV.

Nexus Fund IV reached its final close in July 2025, with co-investment vehicles bringing total commitments above $400 million. Catalio had $2.4 billion in assets under management as of Oct. 1, 2026, across its private, public and credit strategies.

KKR announced plans in 2023 to take a minority economic stake in Catalio and invest in its funds. Catalio’s founders, George Petrocheilos and R. Jacob Vogelstein, were to retain a controlling stake after the investment.

Catalio also closed a separate life-sciences private-credit fund in January 2026 with more than $325 million in commitments, exceeding its initial $250 million target. That credit fund is distinct from Nexus V, which is a venture fund.

Catalio moved Nexus V’s planned launch forward from its previous 2027 plan, but has not specified a new date.
