Network School plans to take control of Farcaster, with the app, protocol codebase and related products moving to the new operator as most of Neynar’s team joins to continue development. The arrangement would shift oversight of the decentralized social protocol and its products while preserving continuity among much of the development team.

Neynar co-founder Rish announced the planned acquisition. Farcaster’s app, protocol codebase and related products are slated for transfer to Network School, covering both the user-facing service and the software behind the protocol. The transfer would move Farcaster’s products and development work to the new operator.

Most Neynar team members will join Network School and keep building Farcaster. Rish, Manan and some other team members will leave and pursue a new direction. The staffing plan places much of the existing team inside Network School while some members depart.

Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol. The planned acquisition shifts responsibility for its app, codebase and related products to Network School, with much of the Neynar team continuing development there.
