Pete Rizzo posted Friday that Charles Schwab had announced direct Bitcoin (BTC) buying through client accounts, a claim that would extend access to more than 40 million Americans.

The post described the option as available to all Schwab clients “now.” It framed the announcement as an expansion of U.S. retail access, with purchases made directly in customer accounts. Rizzo also paired the claim with a $13 trillion figure for Schwab.

The post uses the two numbers for different parts of its framing: more than 40 million is the stated audience for access, while $13 trillion is attached to Schwab. The central point is reach across the brokerage’s client base, with Bitcoin purchases described as happening inside client accounts.

The post’s stated significance is broad retail reach: access would be available through Schwab client accounts across the full group it describes. That is a claim about availability, not a report of how many people have purchased Bitcoin. Rizzo posted under the name The Bitcoin Historian.
