Prudential Estimates $140 Million Q3 Income Decline for Japan Businesses

The preliminary estimate ties the decline in pretax adjusted operating income to a sales suspension at Prudential Japan.

Prudential Financial estimated that a sales suspension at Prudential Japan would lower its Japan businesses’ pretax adjusted operating income by about $140 million in the third quarter of 2026. The estimate was part of the company’s preliminary third-quarter measures.

The projection follows Prudential’s earlier forecast for the Japan sales halt, which put the expected reduction at about $1 billion across 2026 and 2027 from suspending new sales at two Japanese businesses.
