Jump Trading is preparing to trade contracts linked to computing capacity, while DRW has signed an agreement for a dedicated Blackwell GPU cluster, connecting financial firms with pricing infrastructure and supply.

Jump plans to use its balance sheet to take positions in over-the-counter contracts, perpetual futures and prediction bets tied to computing capacity. Itô Markets co-founders Affaan Mustafa and Alejandro Soumah Fernandez joined to lead the business after Jump brought the founders into its compute unit. Soumah Fernandez said the team is already active in the market: “We’re active in the market today and want to help shape what it becomes.”

DRW and Jump Trading Group co-led Silicon Data’s $4.7 million seed round in 2025. DRW also incubated Compute Exchange, a GPU-capacity marketplace, while Silicon Data develops pricing indexes for GPU compute. Separately, DRW signed a GPU-as-a-Service agreement with QumulusAI for a dedicated cluster using NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs. The agreement starts with a one-year term and includes three one-year renewal options.

CME Group’s proposed futures would reference Silicon Data’s daily rental indexes for NVIDIA H100 and B200 GPUs. Each financially settled contract covers 730 GPU-hours, defined as one month of capacity, and monthly contracts are listed across a 36-month horizon. The products are designed to help businesses manage costs tied to compute capacity by providing contracts linked to rental indexes.

CME initially targeted an Oct. 5 launch, subject to regulatory review. The planned launch window is now later this year. Both contracts remained in “Approval Pending (90)” status on Sept. 21.
