Apple’s $1,999 Foldable Shows Jan. 25 Delivery Estimates After Preorders
The estimate covered every iPhone Duo configuration by 8:30 a.m. ET, while Apple has not disclosed preorder volume or initial supply.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone showed Jan. 25 U.S. delivery estimates by 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC), 30 minutes after preorders opened, signaling delayed availability without revealing order volume.
Apple began U.S. preorders at 8 a.m. ET (12:00 UTC) Friday, Oct. 16, and set customer availability for Oct. 23. The Jan. 25 estimates appeared for every configuration in Apple’s U.S. online store.
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB of storage. The 512GB model costs $2,199, the 1TB model is $2,599, and the 2TB version costs $3,199.
Apple has not disclosed how many customers placed preorders or how much initial supply it made available. A later delivery estimate can reflect both customer orders and available stock, so the date alone does not establish demand.
Foldable phones are projected to represent 2.2% of global smartphone units and 6.9% of revenue in 2026. For 2030, the projections rise to 3.1% of units and 10% of revenue, pointing to a category whose share of revenue is expected to exceed its share of shipments.
Anshel Sag, an analyst at Moor Insights, called the Duo “very much a status symbol.” Apple has scheduled the phone’s customer availability for Oct. 23.
