The launch still requires regulatory approval; the bank has also discussed tokenized deposits, digital securities and a possible 2027 expansion to Asian financial centers.

Deutsche Bank is nearing a crypto custody launch for German companies and professional investors, with service expected to start within weeks if regulators approve the planned offering.

The service would initially support Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and other digital assets. It is designed to hold assets for business clients, rather than operate as a retail cryptocurrency trading app.

Taurus, a Swiss digital asset infrastructure company, is helping develop the service’s technology with Deutsche Bank. The launch timing remains an expectation, not a confirmed start date, and regulatory approval is still required.

The bank has also discussed tokenized deposits and digital securities. It has considered a possible expansion to Asian financial centers in 2027, though that move remains under consideration.

The plan builds on a previously outlined staged custody rollout, which would begin with major cryptocurrencies and add stablecoin deposits and withdrawals in later phases.
