Crypto ATM Network Falls 29.7% Since March, U.S. Share Shrinks
The global count reached 27,358 machines on Sept. 26. Estimates of 2026 market revenue range from $549.98 million to $800 million.

Tracked crypto ATMs worldwide fell 29.7% from March to Sept. 26, leaving the United States with 71.4% of the network as the number of listed machines continued to contract.
The global count stood at 27,358 on Sept. 26, down 11,570 from 38,928 on March 29. The U.S. share fell from 77.7% over the same period, while Canada held 13.5% of machines in September. Oceania accounted for 7%, and Europe for 5.6%. The figures track listed machines and are snapshots, not an audited confirmation that every ATM was operating at its listed location.
The contraction continued over the summer. From July 8 to Sept. 26, the global directory count fell by 587 machines, including 476 in the United States. Those changes show where listings declined, but the counts do not establish why the network shrank or how much of the drop came from any one operator.
Bitcoin Depot Inc. and affiliated debtors filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions on May 17, seeking an orderly wind-down and sale of assets. The company's network was taken offline, but the figures do not identify how many machines were removed from global listings because of the shutdown. Bitcoin Depot CEO Alex Holmes said May 18, “Under these circumstances, the Company’s current business model is unsustainable.”
In 2025, 13,460 complaints involved cryptocurrency kiosks, with adjusted losses totaling $388,981,267. The complaint category can include other transaction types, so the full loss amount cannot be assigned solely to kiosk use. These totals add consumer-protection context, but do not show whether fraud complaints contributed to the decline in listed machines.
Market estimates for global crypto ATM revenue in 2026 range from $549.98 million to $800 million. Estimates put North America's share of 2025 revenue at either 46% or 88.7%, and the market definitions behind them have not been reconciled. The range does not establish a single audited industry revenue total.
Bitcoin Depot's total 2025 revenue was $614.851 million, higher than one estimate of $356.72 million for the entire global crypto ATM market in 2025. The figures measure different things and should not be treated as equivalent: one is revenue for an individual operator, while the other is an estimate of an industry's total market size.
