Charles Schwab is gradually allowing eligible clients to move Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) between its service and external wallets, expanding beyond crypto exposure confined to investment accounts.

Clients can transfer either asset to an external wallet or bring it back into Schwab’s service. The phased rollout currently covers Bitcoin and Ether.

The transfer option extends Schwab’s offering beyond market exposure inside investment accounts by letting eligible clients move the assets outside the service. Schwab has discussed adding support for more crypto assets, but that expansion is not part of the current two-asset rollout.

Bitcoin and Ether held through Schwab are not covered by Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) insurance and are not insured traditional bank deposits.
