Organizers postponed Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative conference until 2027 on Monday as attacks across the kingdom raised security concerns for a gathering intended to draw global investors.

The 10th edition had been scheduled for Oct. 26-29 in Riyadh. Finance leaders from JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and Citigroup were among those listed as speakers. Organizers plan to announce new dates soon.

An Oct. 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300. The Iran-backed Houthis later claimed further attacks on that airport, Abha International Airport, Saudi Aramco facilities in Yanbu and the Shaybah oilfield.

Saudi forces intercepted drones near Riyadh on Friday and Saturday. They also intercepted missiles over the Red Sea on Friday, including one headed toward Yanbu, a port city with an oil terminal.

Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund launched the conference in 2017. The event has been part of the kingdom’s effort to attract investment and diversify its oil-dependent economy.
