Ripple Prime plans to support the launch of Securitize Stocks and explore institutional trading uses for the tokenized U.S. shares, potentially bringing equities into its prime brokerage business.

Securitize announced the tokenized-stock product’s launch on Oct. 8. The shares are issued on-chain and recorded in the issuer’s equity structure. Eligible investors in the United States, the European Union and other permitted markets can receive dividends and exercise voting rights.

Ripple Prime’s involvement is planned. The firm intends to support the launch and examine whether the shares could fit its broader institutional trading business. Ripple Prime grew out of Ripple’s acquisition of Hidden Road. Its institutional services include over-the-counter spot trading in digital assets, foreign exchange, derivatives, swaps and fixed income.

Crypto analyst ChartNerd highlighted Ripple Prime’s planned role in an Oct. 18 post, calling it “HUGE news for Ripple Prime $XRP family.”
