Daytona Raises $60 Million at $1 Billion Valuation for AI Agent Cloud
FirstMark Growth led the Series B, bringing Daytona’s total funding to $91 million. The company plans to expand its sandbox service with browsers and storage.

Daytona raised $60 million at a $1 billion valuation to expand cloud infrastructure for AI agents, financing a service that gives agents separate computing environments in which to run tasks.
The Series B was announced Oct. 20 and brought Daytona’s total funding to $91 million. FirstMark Growth led the round, with Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next and Okta Ventures participating.
Daytona plans to expand its sandbox product into an “Agent Cloud” combining computers, browsers and storage. A sandbox gives an AI agent an isolated environment where it can run code and use software. Daytona’s sandboxes can retain their work when paused and be copied, allowing agents to pursue different approaches from the same starting point.
The environments support Linux, Windows, macOS and GPU configurations. Together, those options give developers ways to set up the computing environment an agent needs for a particular task.
The financing follows a change in Daytona’s business. The company ended its development-environment product for human programmers in February 2025 and introduced a rebuilt runtime for AI agents in late April 2025. Agent execution has since become the focus of its service.
Daytona announced a $24 million Series A led by FirstMark Capital on Feb. 5. The new round is 2.5 times the size of that earlier financing.
Writer, an enterprise AI company, moved agent workloads from sandboxes it maintained itself to Daytona’s service. “We needed a partner that could help us provision secure sandboxes fast, without adding operational overhead,” said Writer co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Waseem Alshikh.
The financing comes amid investment in other AI computing services. Modal, which also offers sandboxes for running code, raised $750 million in a Series D at a $15.75 billion post-money valuation. Its products also cover AI training and inference workloads.
Daytona is hiring in San Francisco across engineering, sales and operations as it builds out Agent Cloud.
