Arcus Halves Perpetuals Fee Tier Thresholds as Crypto Rates Rise
Base-tier crypto taker fees will double to 0.045% when the new schedule takes effect Oct. 22.

Arcus will halve the trading volume required to reach higher perpetual futures fee tiers on Oct. 22, while ending discounted crypto rates that have reduced trading costs.
The first higher tier will start at $2.5 million in rolling 30-day volume, compared with $5 million under the current schedule. The threshold for the top tier will fall from $3 billion to $1.5 billion.
Arcus will combine a trader’s crypto and real-world-asset perpetuals volume when assigning a tier. The rate charged will then depend on the market traded. Perpetuals tied to equities, commodities and indexes will keep their discounted rates, while crypto perpetuals will return to standard pricing.
At the base tier, the crypto taker fee will double from 0.0225% to 0.045%. The maker fee will rise from zero to 0.015%. Easier access to a higher tier therefore does not mean every crypto trader will pay a lower rate.
For example, $10 million in 30-day volume will place a trader in tier 2 instead of tier 1. Even with that change, the trader’s crypto taker rate will rise from 0.019% to 0.032%.
Arcus will continue to charge no trading fee for spot Stock Token trades. The platform is unavailable in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The revised schedule takes effect Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET (Oct. 23 at 00:00 UTC).
