Incoming Stellar Lumens (XLM) deposits at Japan’s bitFlyer have faced account crediting delays since about 10:49 a.m. ET (14:49 UTC) Oct. 19 because of restricted API access.

The exchange uses an official Stellar Development Foundation API to process incoming XLM. bitFlyer is working on another way to credit those deposits but has given no restoration time.

The issue affects when incoming XLM appears in customer accounts. Customers can still send XLM from bitFlyer, while receiving and sending other crypto assets remain available.

Stellar APIs give applications access to network transaction and account data. bitFlyer must then recognize an incoming transfer and credit the customer’s exchange balance. The exchange offers an XLM/JPY spot market, where customers need XLM in their accounts to trade it.

bitFlyer’s standing deposit instructions require a memo to identify the customer receiving XLM. The exchange plans to provide another update when crediting incoming XLM resumes.
